Newly released IP Protection Guidelines

The Guidelines on Trademark Protection and Enforcement in China  (“The Guidelines”) compiled by China National Intellectual Property Administration (“CNIPA“) provided a detailed introduction of China’s trademark protection system, covering registration system and application requirements, examination and opposition, infringement and remedy. It also provided practical information about online search and application of trademarks and strategic suggestions on trademark protection.The Guidelines shall provide useful guidance and practical advice for IP users in China to better protect their IP rights.

The Guidelines was jointly released with The Guidelines for Protecting Your Intellectual Property in the UK, after Shen Changyu, the director of the CNIPA, recently held a video conference with Tim Moss, the director of the UK Intellectual Property Office.
